FAQ

1. Does dental insurance cover the cost of teeth whitening procedures?
Dental insurance does not typically cover the cost of the teeth whitening procedures. Check with your provider.

2. How long do the teeth whitening effects last?
Teeth whitening is not permanent. People expose their teeth to foods, beverages, and other substances that cause staining. Those who avoid tooth staining substances may be able to wait up to one year before another whitening treatment. Most customers get a touch-up within six months to maintain their natural smile.

3. Does LED teeth whitening damage tooth enamel?
Studies of teeth whitening products using a lower carbamide peroxide percentage showed no effect on the hardness or mineral content of a tooth’s enamel surface.

4. Do teeth whiteners damage existing dental restorations?
Over 12 years of clinical use of teeth whitening products containing a lower carbamide peroxide percentage have not shown any damage to existing fillings. The issue is not "damage" to existing restorations; rather, keep in mind that existing restorations such as tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bonding, veneers, and bridges do not lighten more than their original color.

5. Do teeth whiteners damage a tooth's nerve?
There's no evidence to date that the teeth whitening process has a harmful effect on the health of a tooth's nerve. One study reported that after a 7-year follow up, no individual who used a teeth whitening system needed a root canal procedure on any teeth that had been whitened.

6. When will I see the results of the laser teeth whitening session?
You will see results immediately after your teeth whitening session. The teeth’s pores will need to close and that will take 24-48 hours.
